Sundance Grand Jury Prize winners Fernanda Valadez & Astrid Rondero wrote and directed Sujo. Produced by Jewerl Ross and Silent R Management, the film premiered in the World Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival winning the Grand Jury Prize and opening to rave reviews (currently 100% on Rotten Tomatoes). Their previous film Identifying Features was equally well-received winning the Best International Feature at the 2021 Gotham Film Awards, the Audience Award and the screenwriting prize at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. In 2017, Astrid's directorial debut, The Darkest Days of Us, won two Ariel Awards in Mexico for Best Actress and Best Debut Film.
